AT&T is preparing to launch CruiseCast in-car satellite TV service and will provide 22 satellite TV channels and 20 radio channels delivered direct to equipped vehicles via its satellite service. CruiseCast service is expected to be launched officially by June and it’s being tested with small groups of car audio specialists, expediters and distributors to sign up a few dozen customers to test its distribution.
AT&T CruiseCast in-car satellite TV service is expected to deliver following channels:
Animal Planet
Cartoon Network Mobile
CNBC
CNN Mobile Live
Comedy Central
Discovery Kids
Disney Channel
MSNBC
Nickelodeon
Toon Disney and
USA Network
Winston Guillory, AT&T president said “AT&T CruiseCast is the first service that uses video-buffering technology to minimize loss of programming when a vehicle loses line of sight with the satellite while driving alongside a tall building or under a tunnel.”
AT&T CruiseCast in-car satellite TV service will be available in more than 400 outlets during the launch. The AT&T CruiseCast device is expected to be priced at $1,299 and will come with a subscription price of $28 a month.
