Bright House Networks’ Signs Agreement With NBC Universal To Offer 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games

Bright House Networks announced that it has signed an agreement with NBC Universal on February 9 to offer NBC Universal’s 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games coverage.

Bright House Networks will begin 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games coverage with the Opening Ceremony on Friday, Feb. 12 and delivering NBC Universal’s more than 835 hours of unprecedented Olympic Winter programming to its subscribers.

Bright House Networks will showcase its advanced technologies, as well as cable’s broad digital offering and deep and rich content across multiple digital platforms, including High Definition (HD), Video on Demand (VOD) and High Speed Internet options. Vancouver will be the first Olympics Winter Games available entirely in HD.

Bright House Networks subscribers will get extensive coverage on the networks that include:

  • CNBC
  • MSNBC
  • NBC
  • NBCOlympics.com
  • Universal HD and
  • USA Network

Bright House Networks Universal’s 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games coverage also includes:

  • HD Coverage – For the first time, the Olympics will be available entirely in stunning HD, with HD coverage available on the networks of NBC Universal.
  • On Demand- NBC Universal is making gravity-defying highlights and full event rewinds available On Demand.
  • Pre-Games – Viewers can access more than 20, 5-7 minute clips available in SD and HD.
  • In Games – NBCU will offer more than 100 highlight clips, approximately 15 per day, in addition to up to five full-length daily event replays. Additionally, NBCU will offer more than 30% of In-Games VOD in HD.
  • Online – Via NBCOlympics.com, Bright House Networks’ video customers will have access to more than 400 hours of live event competition and more than 1,000 hours of on-demand access to full-event replays from Vancouver, as well as extensive highlights such as event recaps, best-of montages, commentator analysis and athlete-specific clips.
