Bright House Networks Launches Ten New HD Channels

Bright House Networks announced that it has launched ten new high-definition channels to its subscribers in Michigan on October 20. Bright House has launched following HD channels to its subscribers in Farmington, Farmington Hills, Livonia, Novi, and Redford.

Following are the new HD channels launched:

Cartoon Network HD on Channel 258 originally served as a 24-hour outlet for classic animation properties from the Turner Broadcasting libraries and is mainly youth-oriented, but shares channel space with a late-night adult-oriented channel programming block called Adult Swim.

CBS College Sports Network HD on channel 657 televises hours of original sports programming, features, talk shows and documentaries as well as extensive women’s sports coverage. Its regular season and championship event coverage draws from every major collegiate athletic conference and division, in addition to nine NCAA championships. CBS College Sports Network televises 35 men’s and women’s college sports including football, basketball, baseball, Ultimate Frisbee, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, wrestling and volleyball from every major conference.

Disney XD HD on channel 307 owned by The Walt Disney Company, Disney XD airs children’s animated television series. The network launched on February 13, 2009 as the successor to Toon Disney. Its target market is male children and teens from ages 9 to 14, though it also airs some programming aimed toward teenage boys.

E! HD on Channel 262 also known as Entertainment Television, emphasizes its widening coverage of the celebrity-industrial complex, contemporary film, television and music, entertainment awards shows, daily Hollywood news and gossip, and fashion.

G4 HD on channel 313 is a channel originally geared toward male viewers aged 12–28, devoted to the world of video games. More

recently, the channel has diverted its focus to general interest programming that targets male viewers aged 17–36, although video games are still represented by the channel.

Headline News HD on Channel 228 is a sister station to CNN, the network’s programming focuses around the idea that a viewer could tune in at any time and, in just 30 minutes, receive the most popular national and international stories, in addition to feature reports.

Outdoor Channel HD on channel 654 focuses on the outdoors, offering programming that includes hunting, fishing, Western lifestyle, off-road motor sports and adventure. Billing itself as “America’s Leader in outdoor TV”, Outdoor Channel HD provides thematic primetime programming “blocks,” allowing viewers to watch one of many categories of shows like Western Sport fishing, Step Outside, or Dock Dogs on a designated night.

Style Network HD on channel 324 is a sister channel of E!, Style features fashion, design, interior decoration, and trendy urban lifestyles. Its slogan is “Before meets After.” The network’s series include Ruby, Split Ends, The Dish, Clean House and Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane.

Tennis Channel HD on channel 653 broadcasts 24 hours a day and features live tournaments, news, one-on-one interviews, game analysis and skills instruction. It also features programming from other racquet sports such as squash, badminton, racquetball, table tennis and paddle tennis. The Tennis Channel has extensive coverage of the Davis Cup, Fed Cup and Hopman Cup as well as other tournaments throughout the year.

WE TV HD on Channel 268 features some original programming, such as non-fiction talk shows, as well as made-for-TV movies, older feature films, and re-runs of TV shows, it also shows art and fashion documentaries and reality series. Thematically, the programming is focused on women and women’s issues.
