Championship Gaming Series (CGS), a Video Game league launched last year targeting 18 to 24 year old consumers was a grand success. DIRECTV joined with BSkyB and Star from Asia and has franchises all over the world attracted young ones worldwide targeting the $7.5 billion market of Video games and software.
CGS has announced Qualifier and Draft events for this year for the United Kingdom and Europe. The price money for the top UK and European gamers will be $53,000 and the CGS General Managers who will be evaluating and choosing the best gaming talent for their respective teams. This year the event will be held in Omega Sektor, Europe’s premier game center, in Birmingham, England on May 16-18.
The General Managers will reveal the identities of one Franchise Player and up to four Protected Players from their respective 2007 teams who will be re-signed for the 2008 season on May 17. The final winner of the United Kingdom and Europe will earn the berth to Los Angeles from July 14-28 and play the CGS 2008 World final for the price money $1,000,000.
