Charter To Launch Premium TV Channel ‘EPIX’ in May

Charter Communications announced that it has reached an agreement to launch EPIX in May. EPIX is a premium TV channel operated by Studio 3 Partners, a joint venture between Viacom, MGM and Lionsgate.

EPIX delivers latest Hollywood movies, 15,000 films from three of the top motion picture libraries, cutting-edge original programming and special comedy and concert events to Charter customers around the nation.

Rich DiGeronimo, Charter’s Vice President of Product Management, said “Video consumption is evolving, and our customers want access to the best movies and entertainment, when they want it and on multiple platforms. We strive to continuously add more entertainment options and enhance the overall experience for our customers, and EPIX offers new content with convenience and control for our customers through a linear, on-demand and online total viewing experience.”

Mark Greenberg, president of EPIX, added, “Teaming with a cable operator that has the reach of Charter significantly increases our national footprint and is an important step forward as we bring the EPIX multi-screen experience to the current audience and the next generation of viewers who will be watching entertainment on both television and emerging platforms.”
