Comcast delivers five new HD Channels In Baltimore, Maryland area

Country’s largest cable operator Comcast has included five new high-definition channels in Baltimore, Maryland area. With this addition, Comcast now has 36 HD channels in this area.

Comcast is planning for aggressive expansion of HD channels in Southern Maryland area. All these new addition and expansion plans are to keep up the competition with DirecTV , which is nearing 100 national HD channels and about to go for major expansion in September.

Comcast’s new channels added in Baltimore area are :

American Movie Classics HD

Animal Planet HD

CNN HD

History Channel HD and

The Learning Channel HD

Mike Davidson a Comcast customer in this area said “I am thrilled to hear Comcast adds new HD channels, competition between the operators makes them to provide new high-definition channels.”

I’m confused. I have Comcast cable tv service. If I have an older model tv set that is not high definition, will I have to have a converter box in order to use said television set?
