Comcast Launches 46 High-Definition Channels in The San Francisco Bay Area

Comcast has announced the launch of 76 new channels that includes 46 high-definition, 13 Spanish language channels, 14 international premium channels and four standard definition channels to its subscribers in the San Francisco Bay Area on Oct. 6.

Comcast’s HD channel launch is possible due to its digital migration called “The World of More.” Comcast has started offering digital upgrades to Standard Cable customers to migrate from analog to digital, and converting channels 31 and above to a digitally delivered format.

Comcast’s launch schedule of new channels is as follows:

San Jose and Los Gatos on October 6
Alameda, Hayward, Santa Rosa and Union City on October 8th Berkeley, El Cerrito, Fremont, Hercules, Newark, Pinole, Richmond and San Pablo on October 13th and
Benicia on November 2nd.
