Outdoor Channel Holdings has announced that it has signed agreement with Comcast to extend its distribution of Outdoor Channel network in Portland, Salem and Corvallis, Oregon, as well as in Vancouver and Longview, Washington. This agreement has allowed Comcast to launch Outdoor Channel on the Digital Preferred tier. Comcast already carries Outdoor Channel on the Sports and Entertainment tier.
Comcast has also launched Outdoor Channel in high-definition on September 1, 2009 in these markets.
Tom Hornish, COO of Outdoor Channel, said: “We are excited to deepen our affiliation with Comcast in Oregon and Washington. These are key strategic markets for us, and we’re pleased to offer Comcast subscribers our best-in-class outdoor programming.”
Randy Brown, Senior Vice President, Affiliate Sales & Marketing at Outdoor Channel, said: “The Pacific Northwest practically defines the great outdoors, and many subscribers here are passionate outdoor enthusiasts who can now easily enjoy our high quality, category-leading hunting, fishing, shooting and other outdoor related programming. They will also soon be able to view our popular programming and personalities through an enhanced HD picture resolution, which truly drives home the visual clarity of the great outdoors.”
