Comcast has launched Universal Caller ID service at no extra cost to its triple play subscribers in San Francisco Bay Area and Monterey-Salinas area on Aug. 27. Comcast already launched Universal Caller ID service in Oregon, SW Washington and in Michigan.
Caller ID feature will allow subscribers to view incoming caller information on their TV and computer screens. Subscribers with Universal Caller ID service feature have an option to see who is calling and decide to answer the phone or ignore the call without having to rush to the handset, while watching a movie or surfing the Internet.
Comcast’s Universal Caller ID feature will be available throughout Comcast’s cable systems in the San Francisco Bay Area and Monterey/Salinas with the exception of the following cities: Aptos, Capitola, Half Moon Bay, Isleton, La Honda, Mendocino, Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, Soquel, Tower Park and Watsonville.
Universal Caller ID will be available to Central California and North Santa Barbara subscribers in early summer.
Elaine Barden, Regional Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Comcast’s California Region said, “The Universal Caller ID service is exciting because it’s one of the first cross-platform products that integrates phone, TV and the PC, and it provides customers with more choice in their entertainment experience. This innovative new feature is just one more way we’re providing even more value to our customers at no extra cost.”
