Comcast To Deliver 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa Matches in 3D

Comcast has announced that it will deliver every 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa match in live 3D from ESPN 3D. Comcast also to present On Demand coverage of 2010 FIFA World Cup matches and online coverage with live games and the latest news.

Comcast subscribers will be presented with English coverage of the soccer tournament on ESPN and Spanish language programming on Univision.

Comcast will begin with South Africa versus Mexico in 3D on June 11 and to present up to 25 matches in 3D from ESPN 3D.

Comcast’s 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa broadcast includes:

  • Live games in SD and HD from ESPN and ABC with closed captioning
  • Univision’s exclusive live coverage of the 64 games available in Spanish via Univision, TeleFutura and Galavisión in HD and SD
  • 50 live matches in Portuguese available from ESPN Deportes
  • All 64 2010 FIFA World Cup matches On Demand next day from ESPN and Univision On Demand at Sports & Fitness > 2010 World Cup
  • Complete online offering at http://www.comcast.net/worldcup/southafrica/index.asp
  • Live games online at ESPN3 with six different languages: Portuguese, Arabic, German, Japanese and Korean
  • Live streaming of the 64 games and replays in Spanish from Univision.com
  • News, scores, and recaps in Spanish from Terra.com
  • The digital calendar will feature that reminds viewers of game times, channels and match-ups through the SmartZone Communications Center
