DIRECTV started its high-definition expansion last year and has delivered almost 90 HD channels and now adding local HD channels in many Market area. The satcaster is about to launch a new satellite next month and the next phase of HD expansion will start and expected to deliver 150 national and 1500 local HD channels. Other providers and Cable Companies have no option to compete are just delivering one or two HD channels depending upon their Bandwidth facility available and also trying ways and means to stay in the competition.
Cox Communications is expected to add Ten high-definition channels in Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach as Cox is beginning to upgrade the fiber optic network in the Hampton. Cox completed the upgrade in Virginia Beach and now Cox will be upgrading in Hampton Roads. Cox did same development in some areas last year. This new upgrade will provide the company to expand its capacity of delivering new HD channels in these areas. The subscribers of Cox will be delighted to view high-definition programming of the following Channels
Animal Plant HD
CNN HD
Food Network HD
NFL Network HD
NHL Network HD
Science Channel HD
The CW HD
TLC HD
Travel Channel HD and
Golf HD-Versus
So Cox subscribers may have some problem in the delivery of programming, But once the upgrade is over Cox will deliver HD programming for their clients.
