Cox Communications Adds Big Ten Network in Omaha-Council Bluffs Area

Cox Communications has launched the Big Ten Network in the Omaha and Council Bluffs area in Iowa on Thursday, Sept. 3. Cox has added the regional sports network dedicated to the Big Ten Conference on channel 233 in standard definition and on channel 750 in high-definition. Big Ten Network will broadcast at least 16 of Iowa’s men’s basketball games this season.

Big Ten Network president Mark Silverman said, “When Omaha-area subscribers tune in to the network, they’ll find unparalleled coverage of Big Ten sports and their teams, an increasing amount of original programming about football and basketball, and shows featuring entertaining stories about what’s happening at their favorite universities.”

Kelly Sare, a public affairs specialist with Cox said, “We’re excited to be able to offer the Big Ten Network just in time for football season. We believe BTN will be an instant hit with Iowa Hawkeye fans.”
Service Electric Broadband Cable and Service Electric Cablevision added Big Ten Networks recently.
