Cox Communications has announced that it will launch five new high-definition channels to its subscribers in the South Hampton Roads beginning Feb.26.
The new HD channels added are part of the HD expansion that Cox is undergoing and the areas include Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. Following HD channels will be added to its HD programming line-up:
Cartoon Network HD
E! HD
Fox News Channel HD
FX HD and
Speed Channel HD
Gary McCollum, Senior Vice President and General Manager said “Cox is committed to offering our customers the high-quality HD channels that they want and we are pleased to add a variety of programming to our high-definition lineup, free HD programming, superior picture quality, and the fact that Cox customers can receive great HD programming On DEMAND, is just one way that Cox proves, we are truly the best choice for HD service in Hampton Roads.”
With these new HD channels added to its programming line-up, Cox will be offering more than 54 HD channels at free of cost.

Cox will offer 7 more HD on Aug 20 2009 ,The Weather Channel HD -724, Fox Business Network HD -818, NBA TV HD-channel 814 , Bio HD -channel 828 ,Encore HD -channel 810 , MLB Net HD -channel 814 and Pay Per View Events Channel HD – channel 701
