Cox Extends Partnership with ‘LSU Sports Properties’ For Five More Years

September 18, 2009

Cox Communications will be the ‘Official Communications Partner of LSU Athletics’ till summer of 2015. Cox has entered a five year sponsorship agreement with LSU Sports Properties on Sept. 14.

Cox Communications was the first corporate member of Team LSU—the highest level of support for LSU Athletics, when it signed an agreement in 2005.

This agreement will allow Cox to continue its premium signage in all LSU athletic facilities; radio, television, Internet and game program advertising; game sponsorship benefits, tickets and hospitality access for sporting events, and use of the Team LSU mark for advertising and promotions.

Cox Sports Television will continue to televise a minimum of 50 LSU events on an annual basis and retain its status as the “Exclusive Regional Sports Network Home of the LSU Tigers.”

Joe Alleva, vice chancellor and director of Athletics for LSU said: “The partnership between LSU and Cox remains one of the most creative and comprehensive in all of college athletics. Cox shares the passion for LSU that lives across Louisiana. Our partnership with CST will help continue the winning tradition of LSU athletics for many years to come.”

Jacqui Vines, senior vice president and general manager of Cox Louisiana, said: “Cox’s partnership with LSU has been a win-win-win for Cox, LSU and our state. Through Cox’s ten year partnership with TAF, and CST’s five year agreement with LSU Sports Properties, we have been a proud member of Team LSU. It remains our goal to provide our customers with the best programming, including local sports programming. The team of CST and LSU Athletics is one way we are fulfilling this important goal for our customers and the communities we serve.”
