DirecTV started added local high-definition channels in many markets as the satcaster last week provided local HD broadcast in Syracuse, N.Y., South Bend-Elkhart, Ind., Mobile, Ala.-Pensacola, Fla., Richmond-Petersburg, Va., Toledo and Youngstown, Ohio. Its time for Champaign-Springfield-Decatur subscribers in Illinois to receive local HD broadcast. Following local broadcast are available in high-definition:
WICS/ABC
WCIA/CBS
WRSP/FOX and
WAND/NBC
DirecTV announced that the satcaster provides local HD broadcast channels in 94 cities, representing nearly 82 percent of U.S. TV households. The satcaster also plans to deliver 27 more high-definition channel markets before end of the year, when DIRECTV will provide local HD broadcast channels in 121 cities, representing more than 88 percent of U.S. TV households.
