DirecTV Broadcast 2010 US Open Tennis Championship in 3D

DirecTV will present live coverage of 2010 US Open from Flushing, New York from Aug.30 through Sept.8. DirecTV subscribers will get up to six live matches at the same time on DirecTV US Open Mix Channel.

For the first time DirecTV will carry CBS 3D broadcast of US Open tennis tournament on DirecTV n3D Channel on channel 103.

Ken Aagaard, executive vice president of operations, engineering and production services for CBS Sports said “3D is always complicated and very expensive. I love the more complicated and harder it is. It’s a learning experience. You shoot it differently, you produce it differently, and you direct it differently. There’s a host of difficulties you might experience.”

DirecTV viewers will need a 3D TV and 3D glasses to watch 2010 US Open Tennis Championship in 3D.
