DirecTV Launches Soccer Mix Channel To Deliver European Soccer Matches

DirecTV has announced that it will deliver exclusive soccer coverage matches to entertain its fans in United States. DirecTV will start presenting more than 300 marquee European soccer matches from the 2009-2010 UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and “La Liga.” All these three tournaments will be available on DIRECTV channels 456-470 and the Soccer Mix Channel on 461.

DirecTV will deliver 22 soccer games per week that includes every UEFA Champions League playoff and group stage match, every UEFA Europa League knock-out stage match including the final and at least three La Liga games every round of play.

DirecTV will launch a soccer Mix Channel as it delivers NFL SUNDAY TICKET package, Tennis, Golf and also during Election coverage. The DirecTV soccer Mix channel will feature multiple matches on one screen. DirecTV joins Fox Sports en Español, FSN, Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta Sports for UEFA Champions League coverage and GolTV for UEFA Europa League.

DirecTV will present 60 live exclusive matches in the Group Stage of the UEFA Champions League. DirecTV will also bring games already being broadcast by Fox Soccer Channel, Fox Sports en Español, FSN and Setanta Sports. Each of the twelve matchdays during that stage, beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and continuing through Wednesday, Dec. 9, will feature exclusive-to-DIRECTV live broadcasts of five of the eight games played per day.

DirecTV along with its partner GolTV will bring 149 matches live out of 205 total matches in the tournament that includes 96 of a possible 144 matches in the group stage, and nearly every elimination match in the tournament, culminating in the final, to be played on May 12, 2010, in Hamburg, Germany, which will be broadcast live on DIRECTV. GolTV, ESPN and DIRECTV will deliver 380 La Liga matches with 114 of them on DirecTV during the 2009-2010 season.
