DirecTV Teams Up with Tennis Channel and ESPN2 to bring French Open Tennis

After successful coverage of 2008 Masters Golf Tournament, DirecTV is planning to take the French Open Tennis Coverage to new level. DirecTV will broadcast French Open with DirecTV’s exclusive French Open Interactive, beginning May 25 through June 1. The satcaster is teaming up with the Tennis Channel and ESPN2 to broadcast French
Open, which will include complete coverage of play on five of Roland Garros’ fabled courts during the tournament’s first six days, and eight hours of coverage on Saturday,
May 31 and Sunday, June 1. Throughout the tennis coverage of DirecTV for eight days, customers can also instantly access scores and match schedules for all the action
from Paris as DirecTV’s French Open Interactive offers 350 hours of live championship tennis.

DirecTV is promising to bring “Center Court” coverage via the French Open Mix channel. Fans can simultaneously view up to six live matches, including the featured match
on the Tennis Channel or ESPN2, highlight each cell to listen to the live audio feed, and tune to each match full screen. DirecTV’s award-winning interactive applications
will be available on all channels, providing fans with instant access to live scores, upcoming matches and match results.

Matches On Now – Matches on Now provides a view, on the lower third of the screen, of the up-to-the-minute scores of all current televised matches, Viewers can tune directly to each one by pressing the Select button on the remote.

Matches On Later – This feature offers an up-to-date schedule of upcoming matches on each of the court channels. Viewers see approximate start times and complete order of play, so they can plan their viewing to get the most out of all the great tennis action.

Instant Results – Fans can instantly access real-time scoring of all French Open matches in progress, see scores for completed matches that day and the day before, and view upcoming matchups, all without leaving the match or the channel they are watching.
