DirecTV has announced that it will launch “Manhattan Project” to the Manhattan subscribers to access NFL Sunday Ticket package online. This will be a pleasant surprise to Manhattan residents who can’t subscribe to DirecTV TV service in their apartment. DirecTV NFL SUNDAY TICKET Online service can be accessed from September 13, 2009 12-8:15pm ET each Sunday till January 3, 2010.
DirecTV Manhattan Project will allow subscribers to follow their favorite team no matter where they live in the city.

DirecTV launches the broadband-only version of Sunday Ticket for the 2009 season to residents in the borough of Manhattan only.
DirecTV spokesman Robert Mercer said, “We wanted to test ‘DirecTV NFL SUNDAY TICKET Online‘ service in a small area and Manhattan was a logical choice given the high level of building and line-of-sight issues. What we learn here will be applied to the national rollout.”
