The award-winning American serial drama television series, Friday Night Lights (FNL) Produced by NBC Universal to premiere on DirecTV on Wednesday at 9:00 PM on Channel The 101.
DirecTV and NBC signed an agreement to bring back the football drama “Friday Night Lights.” DirecTV will broadcast 13 episode serial from October and NBC will start broadcasting the third season episodes on Fridays at 9.00 to 10.00 PM ET starting after the Super Bowl XLIII in 2009. Marc Graboff, co-chairman, NBC Entertainment said during April “This mutually beneficial agreement shows that we are very flexible in providing additional platforms that will allow quality shows such as FNL to keep turning out wonderful stories,”
DirecTV’s executive vice president for entertainment Eric Shanks said “It’s no secret that our business is about acquiring new customers and retaining the most profitable ones. And we really believe that the passionate fan base from a premium show like ‘Friday Night Lights’ has the ability to acquire new customers and really reward our most loyal customers with something they just can’t get on cable.”
