DirecTV, USA Network and CBS To Deliver 2008 US Open Interactive in HD
DirecTV has announced that the satcaster is teaming up with CBS, USA Network and USTA to broadcast the US Open Interactive service. DirecTV has launched DIRECTV’s US Open Interactive service and will be available from Aug. 25 to Aug. 29, which will also include USA Network’s national coverage during the tournament’s first five days, Aug. 25-29 and also extending the US Coverage from CBS from Aug. 30 through Sept. 1.
DIRECTV’s US Open Interactive for the year 2008 will broadcast more than 400 hours of US Open coverage, that also includes 160 additional matches on five extra court channels and also the network channel in high-definition. DirecTV provides own announcer commentary team that will include Chanda Rubin, seven-time Women’s Tennis Association Singles Champion, Mark Woodforde, a most successful doubles team partner in history with a record 61 titles, Jeff Tarango, Jack Edwards, Barry MacKay and Bill Patrick.
DIRECTV’s US Open Coverage is available on all six channels and can be viewed simultaneously on a separate US Open Mix Channel. Apart from schedules, real-time scoring and results can also be seen on the court channels, the Mix Channel, and on USA Network.
US Open Interactive coverage is available on DirecTV from 11:00 AM ET on each of the tournament’s first eight days. USA’s national broadcast of the Tournament will broadcast between 5 PM and 7 PM ET daily, DirecTV shows any match that it presents to its conclusion. CBS expanded coverage on DirecTV will run from Saturday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 1, 11 AM to 6 PM ET.
