We would like to be considered for the Hometown Heroes program. We make quilts for our wounded service personnel who served in Iraq or Afghanistan. Our local group, that I am chairman of, has distributed over 70 quilts in the last two years. We now have weekly and monthly workshops for the public to assist us. We constructed 61 quilt tops in 60 days. I also volunteer with the Long Beach high school students to help them earn their community srvice hours to graduate by teaching them to make quilts to support our troops.
