DirecTV has announced that it will continue its expanded tennis coverage, this time presenting extensive and interactive television coverage of the 2009 US Open tennis championship in high-definition from August 31 to September 7. The live coverage will be served on main feed from ESPN2, CBS and five extra live court channels on DirecTV’s Mix Channel.
DirecTV will present six live matches at a time on US Open Mix Channel on Ch.701 or viewers can enjoy on a separate channels tuning 702-708. The features of 2009 US Open tennis championship presentation on DirecTV is as follows:
US Open Mix Channel – DirecTV will deliver up to six live matches on one screen (ch. 701), including the network broadcast plus five bonus channels of outer-court coverage won’t be seen anywhere else. And you can see all the matches in crystal-clear HD. Select any one channel and tune in directly.
All in HD – Viewers will be served with a better view than the umpire to see if the ball is in or out. Hear the squeaks of the sneakers. See the beads of sweat fall to the court. With DIRECTV HD, you experience all the great rivalries and action in super-rich detail.
Match Guide – Get the score faster than a first serve. Press the RED button on your remote and see scores from matches in progress on the court channels (702-708), plus the schedule for upcoming matches. This interactive feature will be available throughout the tournament.
Recent Results – See real-time scores for both in-progress and competed matches, and find out who is getting ready to take the court at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Women’s Draws – A complete round-by-round chart will show which players are still in it and which players are headed home.
