Dish Network has launched EchoStar XV satellite on 10 July, 14:40 EDT to expand its high-definition services. The leading launch services provider for the global commercial satellite industry International Launch Services (ILS) has successfully launched EchoStar XV satellite into orbit today on an ILS Proton for Dish Network.
EchoStar XV satellite was built by Space Systems/Loral on the flight-proven 1300 platform, weighing 5,521 kg at separation. EchoStar XV, located at 61.5 degrees West will provide Dish Network enough resources to expand its HD programming.
Dish Network will expand its HD programming and is planning to deliver more than 200 national HD channels as well as HD locals in 156 markets.
