Dish Network has announced the launch of new satellite EchoStar XIV on March 21. This new satellite ‘EchoStar XIV‘ will help Dish Network to expand its high-definition offering to its subscribers.
Dish Network’s new satellite EchoStar XIV is the largest build by Space Systems/Loral launched on an International Launch Services Proton/Breeze M vehicle from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 2:27 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 20. After a nine-hour, 10-minute mission, EchoStar XIV was successfully released into geosynchronous transfer orbit. The satellite will ultimately reside at 119 degrees West longitude at an altitude of 22,000 miles.
Dish Network is presently offering more than 160 high-definition channels and HD locals in 152 markets. With the launch of new satellite EchoStar XIV, Dish Network will expand its HD channel line-up to 200 HD channels.
