ESPN Deportes, ESPN Deportes Radio and ESPN3 To Present Copa del Rey Quarterfinals Coverage On Wednesday, Jan. 18, and Wednesday, Jan. 25

ESPN will provide unparalleled programming of the Clasico Spanish rivals, Real Madrid and Barcelona continuing its extensive multi-platform coverage of Spanish soccer on Wednesday, Jan. 18, and again on Wednesday, Jan. 25 on ESPN Deportes, ESPN Deportes Radio and ESPN3.

Coverage of both matches starts at 3:00 p.m. ET across platforms.

In addition to the live broadcast on ESPN Deportes and ESPN Deportes Radio, ESPN3.com will also offer live coverage in Spanish-language.

The rivals meet two more times this season after Barcelona defeated Real Madrid last August in the two-legged Super Copa winning both matches, and the recent 3-1 Barcelona victory at Madrid in the league last month.

PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS:

ESPN Deportes

  • Pre-game: On match day for both Copa del Rey quarterfinals, Futbol Center will have a one-hour special show starting at 2:00 p.m. ET, followed by a LIVE pre-game Fuera De Juego at 3:00 p.m. The network’s international soccer program will offer live segments from Spain;
  • Post-game: Immediately after the matches, the network will air a post-game Fuera de Juego followed by Futbol Center at 7 p.m. ET.
  • The live telecast of the first leg will be led by Jorge Ramos (play-by-play) and the analysis by Tato Noriega, onsite from Santiago Bernabéu. Martin Ainstein will be reporting from the field
  • Live from Camp Nou in Barcelona, the second leg will be led by Fernando Palomo (play-by-play), analysis by Argentinean World Cup soccer champion Mario Kempes and Martin Ainstein (sideline reporter).

ESPN Deportes Radio

  • The only national Spanish-language sports radio network in the U.S., will broadcast both matches LIVE starting at 3:00 p.m. In addition, Jorge Ramos and Martin Ainstein will provide live updates from Spain prior to each match.
  • Commentary will be led by Marcelo Masanti (play-by-play) and Manuel Kun (analysis) for the first leg, and Jorge Ramos (play-by-play) and Hernan Pereyra (analysis) for the second.

ESPN3

  • Additionally, ESPN3 will carry the action Copa del Rey Clasico quarterfinals live in both English and Spanish online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and through ESPN on Xbox LIVE. Both Copa del Rey quarterfinal’s matches between Barcelona vs. Real Madrid kick off at 3 p.m. ET on January 18 and January 25.

  • ESPNDeportes.com will offer vast content previewing the match as well as polls, news, analysis and post-game features with reporters on-site.
  • ESPNDeportes.com’s GameCast coverage will feature play-by-play broadcast and a live chat in-game. Post-game coverage will include match highlights as well as photo galleries.
  • Exclusive blogs and video reports from on-site reporters will be featured.

  • As a preview to kickoff, ESPNDeporteLosAngeles.com will host a live Twitter chat one hour before game time and during the game.
