ESPN Network Launches ESPNU HD on Thursday, August 28

ESPN Network has announced that they are Launching ESPNU in high-definition on Thursday, August 28. ESPNU HD will be launched with the Vanderbilt-Miami college football game at 7:30 PM ET. ESPNU HD will be the fourth ESPN channel to broadcast in high-definition. ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNews have already launched HD channels. ESPNU HD is planning to broadcast more than 200 HD events, including all of its Live Thursday and Saturday college football games and also exclusive coverage of college basketball, lacrosse, baseball, softball, volleyball, wrestling, hockey and more.

ESPN Networks has announced that ESPNU HD has carriage agreements with Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS TV, RCN, Atlantic Broadband and Broadstripe customers. ESPN is also working on carriage deals with more cable, satellite and telecommunications operators.
