ESPN Reach Agreement To Present College Basketball Package on SEC Network

ESPN has signed a fifteen year agreement with college athletic conference Southeastern Conference (SEC) to broadcast SEC college basketball in 62 television markets on ESPN Regional Television. ESPN will join SEC to broadcast the college basketball regionally.

This agreement begins with the 2009-10 season and continues through 2023-24. SEC Network college basketball will reach more than 30 million television households, or 27 percent of the U.S.

SEC Network will begin the regular-season SEC men’s basketball coverage in January, 2010 with Wednesday and Saturday games, that includes doubleheaders. Along with the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament SEC Network will cover SEC women’s basketball games on Sundays.

ESPN Regional Television from the headquarters in Charlotte, N.C will produce SEC Studio show hosted by Whit Watson.
