Exactly a year left for Digital TV transition

USA television move towards the analog to digital broadcasts and it’s left with Exactly a year from now as The Federal Communications Commission(FCC), a US government agency, accountable to Congress, has begun the switch many years back and the US federal law requires On February 17, 2009,  should stop broadcast analog format and broadcast in digital format only.
Why Congress authorized for the digital broadcast is that the frequencies will be reserved for community safety communications like emergency rescue, police and fire and At the same time the digital broadcast would bring options towards programming and quality of picture and sound.
Now, The question arises for the consumers, What to do? Need to go for a antenna, change the television sets or need for a new converter box. Converter Boxes coverts digital signals to analog, so the consumers could see off air antenna channels on their analog television from 2009. This will bring a dramatic business opportunity for the Satellite TV and Cable Companies.
Many Satellite TV providers like DirecTV and many Networks already broadcast in digital signals and the consumers affected by the change would be the consumers with old television sets. The consumers need to buy a new TV sets or get a Satellite TV connection or a Cable.
