Michelle Vicary, senior VP, acquisitions and scheduling, for Hallmark Channel said “Most of all, these movies are perfectly suited for the Hallmark brand of family-friendly programming and for the boomer generation, and will therefore help us attract advertisers and spur distribution for both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel.”
Already DirecTV has signed carriage agreement with Hallmark Movie Channel, but has not specified if the satcaster would carry the channel in HD when it launches the HD version. Time Warner and Comcast also will offer the channel in HD.
