Madison Square Garden and Steiner Sports Collectibles have announced the launch of “MSG-Steiner Collectibles” Monday, October 18.
MSG-Steiner Collectibles will feature rare and unique artifacts, memorabilia and hand-signed items featuring the storied history – past and present – of the Knicks, Rangers, Liberty and The Garden. Steiner chairman Brandon Steiner and Scott O’Neil, president of MSG Sports made the announcement.
Steiner said “We are extremely excited to be working with the most famous arena on the planet, and with Scott O’Neil and his management team. Artifacts featuring the memories of yesterday and future historic moments will be embraced by fans of the Garden and the teams.”
Scott O’Neil said “Madison Square Garden and Steiner Sports are both in the business of creating and celebrating great memories, making this new MSG-Steiner Collectibles partnership the perfect match. From the jersey Amar’e Stoudemire wears his first game as a Knick to an autographed image of Mark Messier hoisting the Stanley Cup, our passionate Knicks, Rangers and Liberty fans will have the opportunity to own a piece of the past, present and future of our celebrated teams.”
Fans of the Knicks, Rangers and Liberty can evoke fond recollections of their favorite MSG moments and players, as well as the newest players and memories-to-come during the 2010-11 campaigns. MSG-Steiner Collectibles will help to keep those memories alive forever through memorabilia pieces available at www.steinersports.com and at a brand new MSG-Steiner Collectibles store at Madison Square Garden.
From Willis Reed limping on to the court to lead the 1969-70 Knicks to the team’s first championship to the highly-anticipated debut of Amar’e Stoudemire on this year’s team. From Mark Messier hoisting the 1994 Rangers Stanley Cup to Henrik Lundqvist’s amazing brilliance in the nets for the Blueshirts, MSG-Steiner Collectibles will have an item for every fan. Artifacts from the iconic Garden court from the 1970 and 1973 Knicks Championships, and nets and plexi-glass from the 1994 Rangers Championship will be among the past highlights.
Game-used product will be the watchwords for the 2010-11 season, with authentic jerseys and sticks worn and used by present stars including the Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudemire and Danilo Gallinari, and the Rangers Henrik Lundqvist and Brandon Dubinsky available. The MSG-Steiner Collectibles line will also include pucks, basketballs, shorts, skates, helmets, warm-ups, and practice tees.
MSG-Steiner Collectibles is the latest in a series of partnerships which also includes relationships with storied professional sports franchises and venues including the New York Yankees and Yankee Stadium, Giants Stadium and the Giants and Jets, the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field, the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park, and the Dallas Cowboys, as well as Notre Dame, Alabama and Syracuse in the college ranks.
