Mediacom Communications has announced that it will add eight new high-definition channels in Springfield, Missouri. The cable operator with more than 1.5 million subscribers has announced that the new HD channels will be added into the HD programming line-up of the Springfield subscribers on December 17. The new HD channels are:
A&E
CNN
Food Network
Home & Garden Television
TBS
The History Channel
The Sci-Fi Channel and
WGN America
Mediacom has recently hiked the cable rates in Springfield and the new HD channels may be to satisfy the subscribers. Even though Mediacom is launching new HD channels many subscribers are waiting for HD DVR ordered some time now. The cable operator says that the DVR supply is in demand and people will get it very soon.
Mediacom Region Operations VP Larry Peterson said “It’s not just Springfield, the cable industry is having trouble keeping up with the demand for the customers asking for DVRs, and HDs, and especially the HD DVR. That’s like the holy grail right now.”
