Mid-Atlantic Sports Network To Launch MASN2 HD in 2010 To Carry Orioles and Nationals Games

The regional sports network Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) that televises Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles games will launch a high-definition channel in the 2010 season. The new channel will be known as MASN2 will broadcast every  and Nationals game live and in HD throughout the 2010 season.

MASN announced that major Satellite TV providers like DirecTV and Cable operators are ready to carry MASN2 HD before the 2010 MLB season.

MASN2 HD will broadcast more than 320 Major League Baseball games in HD. MASN HD’s exclusive pregame and postgame shows Xtra and Nats Xtra will be broadcast live in HD.

MASN2 HD will broadcast more than 130 live games, positions MASN as the leading regional sports network in the United States with 320 Major League Baseball high definition telecasts.

Todd Webster, MASN spokesman, said “In only its fourth season, MASN continues to set the standard for regional sports programming, with national-caliber broadcast talent, state of the art in-game technology, and the most in-depth coverage of the Nationals and Orioles. MASN is proud to be the first RSN in the region to offer every one of its professional games in high definition. And with every play and every game in HD in 2010, fans will be closer to the action than ever before.”

Nationals president Stan Kasten, said “We’re very excited about the launch of MASN2 HD because this is great for our fans, who can now enjoy every single one of our games in crisp high definition. This is even more good news for the Nationals heading into the 2010 season.”

Orioles president of Baseball Operations, Andy MacPhail, said “I continue to be impressed by MASN’s commitment to providing our fans with the most technologically advanced and professionally-produced telecasts in all of Major League Baseball. They continue to push the envelope and set the standard for regional networks.”
