NASA Television will launch a high-definition channel NASA TV HD on Monday, July 18 .
The new HD channel will deliver media, cable and satellite service providers with news content and coverage of agency missions and programs.
NASA TV HD will deliver live launch coverage of space shuttles and other spacecraft that only NASA can provide. A daily program covering the activities of the International Space Station crew and ‘Video of the Earth’ shots by the station crew will also be available in HD.
NASA TV in standard definition is available on DirecTV channel 289 and Dish Network on 212. NASA has not announced that any provider will carry NASA TV HD on launch on Monday.
