Sony Pictures Television has announced that it will launch two new movie channels in high-definition channels later this year. Sony movie channel and FearNet are the new HD movie channels expected to be launched.
Sony movie channel will be launched on October 1 offering contents and movies from its film library. This channel will not be a premium pay channel like HBO, Starz, Showtime or Epix.
FeatNet will be a joint venture of Sony, Lionsgate and Comcast Corporation launching on October 1, delivering horror movies. Sony has huge collection of horror movies on store to deliver on FeatNet.
Comcast, Cox Communications, AT&T’s U-verse and Verizon Fios already offer FearNet as a online service or Video-on-demand.
