The Eurosport Group partners Championship Gaming Series in Europe

The largest European sports satellite and cable network “The Eurosport Group” has entered an agreement with Championship Gaming Series (CGS), the only worldwide professional video gaming league launched last year by a joint venture among BSkyB, DIRECTV and STAR. The deal will give Eurosport exclusive broadcast rights for CGS in Europe.

The Eurosport Group will start with airing the highlights of inaugural CGS 2007 series on Channel Eurosport 2 from April 28 to May 3. For the first time in Europe, The Eurosport Group will broadcast the CGS 2008 season with American season for the 2008 will begin at South by Southwest ScreenBurn Arcade in Austin, Texas between March 7-9 and Qualifier and Draft events for this year for the United Kingdom and Europe to be held in Omega Sektor, Europe’s premier game center, in Birmingham, England on May 16-18. The broadcast of CGS games by The Eurosport Group will reach 41 countries in continental European and will include major countries like Spain, Italy, France, Germany and UK.
