The MountainWest Sports Network (The Mtn.) has begun its fourth season of broadcasting on Sept.1 dedicated to a college athletic conference. The Mtn. will broadcast 30 live football games this season with Utah State vs Utah on Thursday.
The Mtn. will bring nine games in high-definition starting from Saturday, Nov. 14. The Mtn. will also broadcast six live volleyball match-ups and three women’s soccer contests – two live semi-finals matches and the championship game on tape delay – from the MWC soccer championships.
The Mountain View, presented by Dodge on Thursday and Friday nights and Mountain West Football Saturday are two 30-minute preview episodes which begins one-hour prior to the first game of the day on The Mtn. The Thursday edition of The Mountain View, presented by Dodge focuses on all non-football related happenings across the Mountain West Conference, while the Friday edition of the show previews the upcoming football action on Saturday.
The Mountain Cap is a 30-minute recap of scores and highlights from across the Mountain West Conference, will air Saturday evenings following the end of the last game of the day. Halftime Live airs during each football game and most games will be followed by Post Game Live.
A Day in the Life and A Conversation With… will generally occupy the 7 p.m. MT time slot on Mondays. A new episode of A Conversation With… premieres on Monday, September 14 at 7 p.m. MT with New Mexico head football coach Mike Locksley, and will incorporate an entirely new format.
Around the Mountain on Tuesday night is a roundtable discussion featuring a panel of experts from across the MWC. Hosted on a rotating basis by The Mtn. network anchors Marius Payton and Bill Doleman, “ATM” airs weekly at 7 p.m. MT.
The Mtn. debuts three new shows this fall that includes:
Rivalries – looks at each Mountain West Conference institution’s biggest rival from both a traditional and casual fan’s point-of-view across the multiple sports. Some perceived rivals may be obvious and yet others, in the opinion of some, may surprise. The BYU/Utah rivalry, regarded as one of the fiercest in the nation, leads off this new series on Monday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. MT.
Teams to Remember – recounts the notable teams that hold a special place in Conference lore. As 2009 marks the 25th anniversary of the 1984 BYU football team’s National Championship, it is only fitting that the 1984 Cougars are the focus of the inaugural episode on Monday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. MT.
Traditions – takes a look at traditions unique to each MWC institution. Some of the traditions to be featured will include: Air Force Academy football game flybys performed by various aircraft in the United States Air Force inventory; the firing of the Cannon (done since 1954), whitewashing the “A” or the “Suicide Trombones” of the CSU Marching Band at Colorado State; and the Homecoming Car Push and players singing “Ragtime Cowboy Joe” following each Cowboy victory at the University of Wyoming. The show premieres Monday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. MT.

We are looking into changing from Comcast to a satellite network but want one that carries the Mountain network and are confused. Does Direct TV carry broadcasts from the MTN? Dish Network? Who broadcasts the MTN’s University of Utah men’s basketball and football games?
Thank you for any help you can give. We feel trapped with Comcast and their prices.
Woops, we live in West Valley City, Utah if that makes a difference.
