The Weather Channel set to launch its high-definition studio program broadcast from June 2 onwards. The Channel’s new 12,500-square-foot HD facility is expected to be completed by this month. The Weather Channel is expecting to launch Evening Edition and Your Weather Today on the day of launch. Debora Wilson president of the channel said they are planning to spend about $50 million on building these new infrastructure and by the year end the whole broadcast of the channel would be in HD. The Channel has already signed carriage agreements with DIRECTV, Comcast, Dish Network and with many leading Cable Companies for carrying its high-definition simulcast.
