Time Warner Cable Subscribers in 11 Cities Lost HD Signals

Time Warner Cable subscribers have lost many standard and high-definition channels in 11 markets as Time Warners’ carriage rights with LIN TV has expired. LIN TV has withdrawn CBS affiliate WIVB and WNLO channels in many markets. The cable operators agreement has expired for carrying 15 LIN TV stations in 11 markets. Time Warner and LIN TV dispute affected Green Bay, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Austin, Columbus, Ohio, Dayton, Ohio, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mobile, Alabama, Springfield, Massachusetts, Terre Haute, Indiana and Toledo, Ohio subscribers.

Green Bay, Indianapolis and Buffalo subscibers were disappointed as they missed week end football games. Robin Wolfgang, a TWC spokesperson said “Basically, LIN TV wants to make more money and they want it to come off the backs of out cable customers, We are trying to control programing costs so our customers aren’t paying for something that they can otherwise get for free.”
