The Africa Channel that features programming from Africa will be launched on Time Warner Cable in July in Los Angeles market area. The Africa Channel was launched in the US during September last year will be added into the programming of Time Warner Cable from July 29 on channel 176.
The Africa Channel will be available in Time Warner Cable’s Los Angeles programming line-up in the cities of South and West L.A., Artesia, Athens, Baldwin Hills, Bell, Bellflower, Bell Gardens, Carson, Claremont, Compton, Covina, Cudahy, Culver City, Downey, Harbor, Hawaiian Gardens, Hollywood, Inglewood, Kagel Canyon, Ladera Heights, Lakewood, La Mirada, Lakeview Terrace, Lennox, Lomita, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount, Playa Del Rey, Playa Vista, Pomona, Santa Fe Springs, South El Monte, Sunland, Sylmar, Tujunga, Westchester and Wilshire.
An independent television network, The Africa Channel dedicated to delivering quality content and bringing the rich and diverse perspectives of Africa, has reached an affiliation agreement with the leading cable operator Comcast in February and the channel was launched on Comcast’s Atlanta system on March 20 on channel 182.
