Univision, Cox Communications Reach Multi-Year Carriage Deal

Univision Communications has entered into a multi-year carriage deal with Cox Communications on June 24. This agreement will allow Cox to carry Univision’s broadcast networks like Galavision, Univision and TeleFutura. Cox also would carry affiliated stations owned and operated by Entravision Communications Corporation and Equity Media Holdings Corporation. The agreement terms were not disclosed.

Tonia O’Connor, executive vice president, distribution sales and marketing said “Cox has been a great partner and over the years has worked closely with us to better serve and grow their Hispanic subscriber base. This long term distribution deal allows Cox continued carriage of our services, plus the launch of Univision on Demand, Cox was one of the first cable operators to focus on the Hispanic consumer by deploying our services broadly across its service area in markets such as San Diego, Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas.”
