Verizon Communications has announced that it has introduced some new interactive features for the FiOS TV service in Tampa Bay area. Verizon is offering its service through the most advanced fiber-optic network direct to customers’ homes.

Verizon already provides some of the most advanced features through its innovative Interactive Media Guide (IMG), which include video service, free casual games, purchase through television, more widgets that provide on-demand access to information and entertainment.

Verizons’ new FiOS TV IMG features for Tampa Bay area subscribers include:

New channel sorting options – Customers can create two separate lists of favorite channels for family members.

Streaming of recorded HD video – Home Media DVR allows subscribers to stream recorded HD programs to six other TV sets throughout the home equipped with HD set-top boxes.

New free widgets – These widgets offer customers’ one-touch, on-demand access to local weather and traffic reports shown on TV screens.

Return to paused programming – Subscribers can pause live programming, change channels, and then return to the paused program and pick up where they left off.

Kathy Koelle, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Verizon’s South-West region said “FiOS TV gives customers an experience they can’t get from cable, the immense two-way capacity of our fiber network allows us to continually introduce interactive capabilities that give our customers richer, more robust and personalized entertainment.”
