Verizon Reached an agreement with Starz to carry New ‘Starz Play’

Verizon Communications Inc, headquartered in New York and Starz Entertainment have reached an agreement on May 27. The multi-year agreement will allow Verizon Communications to offer newly launched Starz Play to its customers.

The broadband customers can download Starz hit movies and Verizon can offer all of Starz products to Verizon’s FiOS TV and FiOS Internet and High Speed Internet subscribers. This agreement will allow Verizon broadband customers to download and watch movies from anywhere in USA. Verizon customers can download movies like:

Ratatouille

Spider-Man 3  and

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End

The movies can be downloaded any number of times without any limitations, without any additional cost.

Both Verizon and Starz Entertainment have renewed their contract signed during April 2005 and also extended their FiOS TV affiliation agreement. The agreement will allow Verizon to carry Starz Entertainment’s Encore Action, Encore Drama, Encore Love, Encore Mystery, Encore Wam, Encore Westerns, INDIEplex, RETROplex, Starz Cinema, Starz Comedy, Starz Edge, Starz InBlack, Starz Kids & Family, Starz HD and Starz On Demand.
